On the date of 28 January 2012, Saturday, the Creative Multimedia Department’s Photo Team had organized Kakiphoto Outing January. The event was held in Georgetown, Pulau Pinang and it takes for 2 days and 1 night. The totals of 25 participants were involved in this event. About the theme for photo-shoot, we usually had picked some of it on depending on the places that we went. The details:

We depart from Universiti Teknologi Petronas around 7.45 am, after we had finished the breakfast. We arrived sharply Bukit Bendera at 10.45 am. There was a nice briefing from the communities, explaining about the tentative of the event, the group, the making of “Cuti-cuti di Penang” video and the some points of safety and precaution. We toured around the Bukit Bendera after we went to the top of the hill by a new version train. We had fun taking some natural scene’s pictures and the nice view of Georgetown. At 2.00 pm, we checked in the An Nur Ancasa Hotel. After we had finished our lunch in Kapitan’s Restaurant, we went to Komtar for the next activity which is Amazing Race. This activity was quite tough because they need to find the picture that the committees want, however we enjoyed so much. They managed to find and capture the street photo nicely. We had a rest for while from 7.00 pm till 8.30 pm. The next trip was Queen’s Bay. At there, we gather to have dinner at Mamak’s Restaurant. After finish dinner, we went to the bay of Pulau Pinang and taking some pictures. We spent there almost 4 hours. After that, we went back to hotel to have a rest.

Group picture during on the hills

On the next day, Sunday, 29 January, after finished breakfast, we went to Penang Botanic Garden where treasure hunt was held. The participants in each group need to find the communities around the park, and they will give the task from each committee to get the key for win. Each group need to find 4 keys. It was quite interesting and amazing, the park was quite large, many habitats we can found there. Instead many of us had learned to capture the nature’s picture. After that, we went to Seberang Perai by ferries. We had a pleasure to go to Salwa’s house to have a lunch which is quite near to the ferry terminal Pulau Pinang. The outing ended right at 5.00pm.

From this Kakiphoto outing, we had gained many experiences and fun. The clear objective from this event is that we need to get a bond with each Medtech’s Committees (silaturrahim) to know each other very well. Nevertheless we had learned some new tricks to capture photos in all situations.
